Media Board Meeting

September 30, 2005

Blue & White Room

Present: Jean Alicandro, Rebecca Barrieau, Anthony Cannella, Mel Catalan, Timothy M. DeRosa, Marybeth Frank, Gilbert Gigliotti, Harrison D. Lees, Albert Kim, Otis Mamed, Vivian Martin, John Adam Tercyak-Morgan, Susan Sweeney and Mike McDonald.

I. Welcome

Ms. Barrieau called the meeting to order at 2:17p.m.

The minutes were reviewed and corrected.

Motion: (Tercyak-Morgan/Catalan) To approve minutes from May 12thth meeting.

II. Budget

Approval of the operating budget will take place at the next meeting. Ms. Sweeney and Ms. Alicandro ask that members bring proposed supplements and line items to be discussed at the following meeting.

III. General Information

Ms. Sweeney gave a brief history of the media board, during which she stated that she would try to get a copy of the legislation pertaining to the board to insure that all funds are being used correctly.

Ms. Barrieau brought the access issues to club offices and asked for clarification of policy from Mr. Mamed’s attention. He in turn reviewed the process of gaining access to club facilities and suggested that all inquiries be discussed with the Student Center Operation Department.

IV. New Business

Ms. Sweeney discussed programming lectures hosted by the CT Forum.

Motion: (Gigliotti/McDonald) To purchase 40 tickets for the literary lectures for media students to attend, first come first serve for the February and April shows.

V. Membership & Roster

The current Media Board roster was passed around for those present to make any changes or adjustments.

Mr. Mamed asked that his membership terms be renewed.

Motion: (Tercyak-Morgan/Catalan) To renew Mr. Mamed’s membership terms.

Students were also requested to provide club/organization roster to Ms. Alicandro.

Mr. Canella declined membership renewal.

Motion: (Tercyak-Morgan/Catalan) To approve Mr. McDonald’s membership.
