Jefferson Elementary School in New Britain was our fall Adopt-A-School project. Our objective was to raise money for new playground equipment (benches, picnic tables, paint for the blacktop, etc.)
Jefferson has a very small neighborhood and, because of zoning laws, they cannot put in a playscape on school grounds. Instead, they have relied on donations and fundraising to purchase new basketball hoops, fences, and a blacktop over the past year. This is a project they are still working on; therefore they really benefitted from our help!
So, we held the Pasta Party on
November 15, 2007 from 5-7pm in the Jefferson Elementary School cafeteria.
We served a spaghetti dinner, held a cake walk, and had arts and crafts for the kids. It was a blast!
