About Our Different Committees
Dean’s Cup Committee
The Dean’s Cup is the most sought after trophy of the year. It is awarded to the residence hall that collects the most points throughout the year by participating in all types of competitive events.  There is one representative per hall that works to put together these competitions.  At the end of the year, residents participate in Super Saturday in a final effort to win the most points. Last year’s winner was Carroll Hall.
Food Committee
Through weekly meetings with  Sodexho’s Dining Services on campus these students represent the opinions and concerns of resident students and resolve menu-related issues. In the past, food committee has been very successful in fulfilling the requests of the students and have gotten longer cafeteria hours and a grilled cheese machine. Working with Sodexho, they also help put together the Midnight Breakfast party and canned food drive for local soup kitchens during finals week.

Weekender’s Committee

The Weekender’s Committee is one of our newest committees. Residents on campus have been looking for activities to do on the weekend for a long time. Weekender’s committee is made up of at least one member from each residence hall. They will be in charge of planning an facilitating weekend events for the residents. They will plan socials, sporting events, and trips for all residents to enjoy on the weekends.

Budget Committee

Budget Committee is a place for the residence halls and outside organizations to request funding for events, programs, and equipment. The money is used to enhance the living community within the residence halls.  The budget committee will advise IRC on any changes that may be made to the semesters budget. The committee is made up of one member from each hall and is chaired by the IRC Treasurer. All outside organizations that request funding must also go through the budget committee process to allow a full evaluation of the request.

Recognition Committee

Recognizing the members of the residence life community for their hard work and dedication is a vital part to making our organization successful. The recognition committee will be charged with the task of recognizing residents, staff, hall councils, and anyone else that they feel deserves to be noticed for their accomplishments. The recognition committee will be chaired by the IRC Vice President and will include one member from each hall. They will recognize several people a month in hopes of building a stronger community at CCSU.
