Printer Friendly Home Rink Directions: Connecticut Skating Center, 300 Alumni Road Newington, CT 06111: From Route 9 North: Take exit 29, Rte 175. At the end of the ramp take a right. Go straight through your first light, and before your second light, take a left at the Citgo station onto Alumni Road. Follow to stop sign and take a right. Arena is on the left at stop sign. From Route 9 South: Take exit 29. At bottom of exit, turn left down hill to next light. At light, turn right onto Fern Road and follow to end. Turn left onto Cedar St, Rte 175. Take a left at the Citgo station onto Alumni Road. Follow to stop sign and take a right. Arena is on the left at stop sign. From I-84 East or West: Take exit 39A to Route 9 South. Follow directions for Route 9 South. From I-91 North or South: Merge onto Route 9 via exit 22N toward New Britain. Follow directions for Route 9 North. From the Merrit Parkway: Follow signs to exit 28 for Route 15/Berlin Turnpike. Take the Newington exit, Rte 175W. Follow approximately 2 miles. After 7th light, take a right onto Alumni Road. Follow to stop sign and take a right. Arena is on the left at stop sign. Directions to Rinks for CCSU Opponents: Directions to Franklin Pierce College: Winchendon School, 155 Central St., Winchendon, Mass. Take I-91 North to Greenfield, Mass. In northern Massachusetts, take the exit for Route 2. Do not take the Route 2A exit. Follow Route 2 North until it becomes Route 202 and 2 North. Stay on 202 North to Winchendon, Mass. In the center of town, turn left. A Dunkin’ Donuts should be on your right. Make the third right; there is a church across the street. Don’t go too far. There is a school in front of the rink. The right turn streets are hard to count, since some enter into parking lots. The rink is very cold. It’s about a 2- to 2½-hour ride, about 86 miles. The rink phone number is: (978) 297-0102. Directions to Siena College: Albany County Hockey Training Facility. Take I-91 North to Massachusetts Turnpike. Take the Mass Pike West to the New York Thruway. From New York Thruway, take Exit B-1 (I-90 West). Follow the I-90 spur to I-87, the Northway, Exit 1. Don’t get confused with the exits for I-787; you want I-87. Go to Exit 4 for the airport and Albany Shaker Road. At the end of the ramp, turn left and go to the next traffic light and turn left onto Albany Shaker Road. You will go under the highway and travel a little less than a mile, and Albany Shaker Road bears to the right. The airport is on your right. Stay to the right. Follow the road past airport to the end. At the traffic light, turn right. The Albany County Hockey Training Facility is just ahead on the left. The rink phone number is: (518) 452-7396. Directions to Marist: Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. This is a car route only: Take I-84 West into New York State to the Tanconic Parkway North, and take the Taconic north to the exit for Route 55 West. Follow Route 55 West about eight miles to the Sheraton/Civic Center on your left. (Route 55 West eventually merges with Route 44 into downtown Poughkeepsie) Go past building and turn left. This brings you up the opposite side of building. These streets are one-way, so you need to make a circle to get to the front. There is parking in garage at the building, and also parking across the street. * Bus route: Take I-84 West to Route 9W North. Follow Route 9 North all the way to the exit for Rts. 44-45. The exit is marked "Downtown Poughkeepsie" or "Civic Center." Go straight off the exit into downtown, and follow signs for civic center. It’s right next to a hotel. ADA parking is available at the "Whit" just stay on 155A / Main Street beyond the Loop Road, over the tracks and make an immediate left turn onto Depot Street. Take Exit 10 to I-290 East toward Worcester. Take Exit 11 (College Square/Southbridge Street) off I-290. Cross over to the right lane immediately after coming off the ramp to College Square. Take the first right (before the traffic light) onto College Street. Go up the hill and enter the last gate on the left, Gate 7. The Hogan Campus Center is the second building on the left with the large silver cross on it. Proceed to the top of the hill to find the Hart Center. Get in the left lane at the toll booth and get off the turnpike at the left-lane ramp just after the toll. Try to keep toward the right side, however, because you will need to get off at an immediate exit. Follow the signs to Cambridge. Cross the River Street bridge, then turn right at the light onto Memorial Drive just after the bridge. Follow Memorial Drive until you see the second bridge that crosses back over the river. Don’t take that bridge; instead, look to make a left turn next to a factory onto Vasser Street. Follow Vasser Street to the rink in the Johnson Athletic Center. The rink phone number is: (617) 253-4916. Directions to Albany State: B.I.G. Arena, 900 Delaware Ave., Delmar, N.Y. Take the Mass Pike West into New York, and follow signs for I-90 into Albany. Once in Albany, get on I-787 South. Don’t get confused by the route numbers; there’s an I-87 toward Siena, but you want I-787 just as you enter Albany. Take 787 South. Follow 787 South all the way to the end, and take a right at the stop light onto 9W/32. Go straight on Rt. 9W/32 for about two miles. Bear right and stay on Rt. 32 when 9W splits to the left. The sign says Delmar. Stay straight on 32 through all of the traffic lights. (This section of Rt. 32 runs parallel to Delaware Avenue). At Elm Avenue, when Rt. 32 goes left, stay straight. At end of the road, at a T-intersection, turn right onto Van Dyke Road. Go one-quarter mile and take a left at the stop light onto Delaware Avenue. Go straight on Delaware Avenue, and the B.I.G. Arena will be about a mile on the left. Look for the sign as you hit the crest the hill. B.I.G. (Bethlehem Ice Group) Arena is at 900 Delaware Ave., Delmar, N.Y. Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Interstate 195 west to Interstate 295 north to exit 7B (north toward Lawrenceville and Princeton). After exiting the interstate, go straight through two traffic lights. Just before the third traffic light, at the end of the Lawrenceville School property and before the white church, turn right into a school entrance. Mullins Center, Amherst, MA. Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) - Right onto Route 9 and go approximately five miles. Take a left onto Route 116 North (across from Staples) and follow for one mile to UMass exit. Take a right off the ramp on to Massachusetts Avenue. Take left at second set of lights and follow directions for parking. Directions to Stony Brook University The Rinx, Hauppauge, Long Island, N.Y. Take Interstate 95 to 295 in New York to the Throgs Neck Bridge. Go over the bridge and bear right at the far end to the Cross Island Parkway South. It’s a quick exit right at the end of the bridge, so get over to the right lane while you’re crossing the bridge. Take the Cross Island Parkway South to the exit for the Long Island Expressway East (495 East). Take the Long Island Expressway East to Exit 58 (Old Nichols Road). Go north (left) onto Old Nichols Road. Proceed down Old Nichols Road for 1/2 mile (4 lights) to Terry Road. Make a left onto Terry Road. Proceed down Terry Road for about 1/2 mile (2 lights) and make a left into Hidden Pond Park. Follow the road to the end and the rink is on your left. The rink phone number is: (516) 232-3222. Directions to Montclair State University Floyd Hall Arena (on-campus rink), Montclair, N.J. Take I-95 South over the Tappan Zee Bridge to I-287. Take I-287 to the Garden State Parkway (Exit 14B). Take the Garden State Parkway South to exit 154. After the toll, bear left to 46 West. Take 46 West to Great Notch / Cedar Grove exit (U-turn). Make a left at the stop sign and go over Route 46. Make a left onto 46 East. Take the Clove Road exit (immediately before Six Brothers Diner). Proceed about 1/2 mile. Turn left into MSU's main entrance. Then get on Route 80 to the Garden State Parkway South. Take that to Exit 154 to Route 46 West. Then proceed as above. Directions to Westfield State: Amelia Park Arena, 21 S. Broad St., Westfield, Mass. Take I-91North into Massachusetts. Take Exit 3 to Route 5, and then take Route 57 over the Connecticut River. Follow Route 57 into Southwick Center, where it meets with the intersection of Routes 202 and 10. Turn right onto 202-10 and follow that into Westfield. At the third set of traffic lights, turn right onto West Silver Street. At the next light, turn right onto South Broad Street. The rink is at the third driveway on the right. Directions to New York University: Sky Rink, Chelsea Piers, Manhattan As you near Manhattan, follow signs for the George Washington Bridge. Before crossing the bridge, exit onto the Henry Hudson Parkway South /West Side Highway South. Take the Henry Hudson Parkway (it will become the West Side Highway) downtown to 24th Street. Turn right into the Chelsea Piers complex. Enter the paid parking and park underneath the first pier (Pier 61). The rink will be above you. PA-879 becomes US-219. 17.12 miles US-219 becomes PA-286. 26.86 miles turn Slightly Right onto ramp. 0.32 miles stay straight to go onto PA-286 West. 0.24 miles turn Left onto Gates Ave. 0.22 miles turn Left onto East Pike. 0.70 miles rink is on left. Follow 102 / 44 North / West to the center of Chepachet. When the two routes separate, follow 102 (Bronco Highway) out of Chepachet for about two miles, to a set of traffic lights.
