After reviewing the evidence gathered from the Meriden House on December 22nd,
2004, we have agreed that the results are inconclusive on whether or not the
house is haunted.
EMF Readings:
The readings were definitely odd. The readings where at levels equal to such
things as construction generators and more powerful. The readings followed no
distinct pattern and seemed to focus around the books in the attic. There were
some strange readings on the second floor as well.
Video
Video revealed nothing. There was one (1) odd appearance in the attic which we
could not explain, but even that was difficult to discern.
Cameras
We found some interesting orbs, and sequencing the pictures revealed some
interesting orb movements, but there wasn't enough and the places that the orbs
were photographed were dust filled areas. There was one picture were a white fog
was consuming one of the club members, but its disputed between members on
whether it was someone's breathe or something else.
EVPs
Audio revealed some interesting sounds, some of which should be uploaded to the
website soon. Voices were heard on the recording that could not be attributed to
the members or others in the house.
Experience in house
While many of the club members could feel a presence in the attic, and there was
a definite energy present while the investigation took place, there is no way of
scientifically recording 'feelings'
Interview
The resident and owner have experienced little in the way of seeing ghosts.
While one of the residents says that he hears a whipping sound every night,
there is nothing to attribute that to. Otherwise, experiences rest in the
stories of others.
While the EVPs revealed something, the only other evidence of paranormal
activity are the EMF readings which, unfortunately, we don't entirely trust
because of how different our EMF detectors are. Is there Meriden House haunted
today? Unsure. Has it been haunted in the past? That we cannot say either. Is
the death mask the center of any possible paranormal activity? To that we can
agree yes, that any paranormal activity is focused in the area of the death mask
and the personal belongings of the Coe family.
In any case, we hope that Mrs. Coe will be able to rest in peace.
a collection of images from the Meriden House as well as some of the EVPs will be posted on the website soon.
