Progressive Student Alliance Minuets, April 11, 2007

Take Back The Night:
WS spoke to student activities, NC can not get special funding for t-shirts.
Take Back the Night is in need of funding for food, candles and buttons.
JVB wanted to know what else PSA could fund this semester.
WS said that there are now tighter restrictions on funding for food
WES explained to JVB that the laws for budgets are changing.
NC is sure we over spent last year.
JVB is sure we didn't.

JVB motioned that PSA funds Take Back the Night's food and candles.
The motion passes.

Retreat:

MTR motions that we should get a free place off campus and pay for our own food.
The motion passes.

MTR suggested that we spend half the retreat on new ideas for fall.
VP agreed.

Budget:
VP proposed that we have a staple gun for supplies.
WS asked for a box with a lock.
JVB said that we have never had a problem with things being stolen.
MTR explained that the banner was stolen.
WS doesn't want things stolen that we spend a lot of money on.
MTR will get a quote from Hartbeat Ensemble.
JVB suggested Zinn.

JVB proposed that we spend the last 150 on supplies.
Motion passes.

Devil's Advocate:
VP expressed that we need more articles for DA.
VP said that we can get some material from WIN and PRIDE.

A20:
WS said that this is a permitted march.
Nick just said that the march is legal because it will be on a sidewalk, there is no official permit.
WS feels that A20 could be huge and he thinks we should do work on getting people involved.

Other Business:
VP is going to the antichrist book fair, he will bring back anything relevant and free.
